The Coral Springs city employee highlights social media campaign was created to showcase our residents all of the many job titles and descriptions, and awareness to just how much they do. Residents of a city rarely stop to think how much work is done by so many people to keep their community in such good condition. This project boosted our city’s social media platforms, as we received positive likes, shares and comments from our residents. This also presented our employees an incentive to be highlighted on our city’s social media platform. They felt a sense of appreciation for their hard work, which encouraged them to keep up the good jobs they continue to do.

During the slower summer months, when there aren’t as many activities and events happening in the Florida heat, the City of Coral Springs was looking for a way to keep social media content fresh and also to lead into the upcoming budget season, which occurs each summer. Residents generally recognize the value of tax dollars paid for city services, but don’t necessarily get to know the employees servicing their city or how many city employees it takes to make a community a beautiful place to live. The scope of services the city provides is for the services closest to home – our parks, streets, police and fire. The City of Coral Springs has close to 1,000 employees, being able to highlight some of them on our social media pages with a brief description of their job duties was an excellent outreach to our residents to bring awareness to what our employees do and how much they do to service our great city.

The goal of the photographs and style used was to capture our employees in their element, and make them feel and look like stars!

The posts were made on a weekly basis, and employees were interviewed to get the story of their background and contributions to the city. A cross-section of departments were selected, so all areas could be represented. We are fortunate to have a talented team of in-house creative staff who photographed each employee, wrote the content, and all work was done in-house.

Engagement on our city’s Instagram increased during the month of July when we executed this project:
     - Instagram followers increased by 3%
     - Impressions increased by 9%
     - #CSProud had an engagement (Engagement is the number of times users liked, commented, and saved your posts.) of 749. It was our top hashtag of the month.
     - Facebook posts received hundreds of likes, shares and positive comments.

Photos were captured then imported from RAW into Adobe Lightroom for editing.
